36 UAE: EXPO 2020 Dubai Dubai Expo 2020 is the place to be from the 1st October 2021 andwill continue to be until March 2022. Bringing people and ideas from all over the world together, the Expo 2020 is the biggest event and the largest World Expo ever with a mixture of experiences and special events but also an opportunity to rethink the future. Dubai 2020 is the occasion to present, stimulate and encourage creativity, innovation and boost international cooperation. On the one hand, The Belgian Pavilion on which our biggest partners, Deme and Besix, have worked focus on the sector of mobility, presenting the latest smart logistics and developments while highlighting the cultural aspects of Belgium by immersing the public in the comics’ universe and offering Belgian delicacies. On the other hand, the Pavilion of Luxembourg is dedicated to present the local trade by showing off products and goods made in Luxembourg as it aims to support small local businesses. Other pavilion will particularly retain our attention. Saudi Arabia has done it again, already holding 3 world records: the world’s largest interactive lighting floor, the world’s largest led mirror and the longest water feature. The UAE pavilion showcase Emirati greatest achievements from their tallest construction to reaching mars. Finally, EXPO 2020 had a particular focus on sustainability while being created, for which it received an award from CEEQUAL, making it the first project in the Middle East with such excellence in infrastructure, landscaping, and public space. EXPO 2020 is therefore an example for the future.
