This transformation is part of the “Saudi Vision 2030”-roadmap, a social and economic development plan which aims to challenge the foundations of the traditional Saudi economy and pushes investment in innovative sectors. The Saudi market is therefore, for the first time in its history, experiencing a period of unprecedented socio-economic changes and diversification to free itself from its dependence on oil. It is because of these reasons that the interest of companies in the Saudi market is growing rapidly. This was clearly showcased by our webinar and all of its participants. In this webinar we were pleased to welcome the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Belgium and Luxembourg, His Excellency Dr. Khalid Al-Jindan and the Ambassador of Belgium to Saudi Arabia, Her ExcellencyMrs. Dominique Mi neur. Amongs t some of the other important speakers were Mr. Tar iq Al Haidri, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, and Mr. René Branders, Cha i rman of t he Federation of Belgian Chambers. The second part of thewebinar consisted of two presentations. The first one, given by Dr. Eiman Al-mutairi, CEO of the National Competitiveness Center and Saudi Business Center, focused on the “Vision 2030” development plan. The second presentation, given by Mr. Khalid Al-Sheddi, Investor Advisory & Relations Executive at the Saudi Ministry, gave an overview of the Mission of the Ministry of Investment in Saudi Arabia (MISA). This mission gave rise to the facilitation of investment procedures and fostered an investment ecosystem as well as a strengthened communication with investors, to help them find their way and succeed in the Saudi market.
